- * Adobe Flash Player 9 or above

Hardware Requirements
To properly enjoy your ninemsn Video experience, your computer will need the following hardware:
- * 1 GHz Processor or better
- * At least 512MB RAM
- * A 256 colour video card, with screen resolution set at 1024x768 or higher
Internet Connection
Ninemsn Video requires you have a downstream bandwidth of at least 512Kbps for the smoothest playback experience. Unfortunately we don't support connections below this speed.
Video Quality
Unfortunately, it is difficult to diagnose problems with video quality, but:
- * If both the video and audio are stuttering while you are viewing, you are probably experiencing problems with your internet connection
- * If the video is stuttering, but the audio quality is ok, you most likely have a problem with the hardware or software on your computer.
Suggested solutions:
- * Check that you have sufficient downstream bandwidth to view videos on the ninemsn site.
- * Does the problem only occur during full screen mode? If so, try reducing your monitor's desktop resolution
- * Are you running any other applications that might be affecting your bandwidth, such as BitTorrent, Outlook or Skype? If so, you might need to close these applications while watching videos
- * Are you sharing your internet connection with other people, possibly via a router? If so, check if they are using any bandwidth intensive applications
- * Is the CPU usage more than 50 percent on your computer whilst watching videos? To check this, right click on the Task Bar, launch the Task Manager and click on the Performance tab. If the CPU usage is above 50 percent, you may need to close other applications to free up your CPU for video playback
If none of the above helps, contact our support team below. It might be a problem on our end, and our support team will look into it.
Audio Problems
If you are experiencing problems with audio or sound whilst using ninemsn Video, check the following suggestions:
- * Check that the volume settings in the video player are correctly set and ensure the video isn''t muted and the volume is set to a reasonable level
- * Check that your computer speaker volume is correctly set. You can check this by double-clicking on the volume icon in the System Tray and making sure none of your volume settings are muted. - * Check that you can hear sound from other media sources, such as Windows Media Player. Can you hear a video that''s stored locally on your PC?
- * Close and restart your Internet browser software
If none of this helps, you may need to re-install your Flash software. Do this by:
DNA and Rewind Modules
You may have noticed the DNA and Rewind modules on the right hand side of the site. These modules assist your video browsing experience.
DNA Module
The DNA module recommends content to you based on videos you have watched on the site. Scroll over different "molecules" to see recommended content from areas we think you''ll like.
Rewind Module
The Rewind Module contains bookmarks of the last 4 videos you''ve watched, just in case you''d like to watch them again or come back to the site and want to show a friend a video you saw.
HIRO downloads
ninemsn utilises the HIRO player technology to allow you to download full episodes of some Channel 9 content completely free of charge, to watch in your own time and share with your friends. In return we may display some advertising within the content, just like TV.
The content is encoded with a proprietary codec which is DRM enabled. You will need to install the HIRO player to watch these full episodes. For more information on HIRO, and how this all works, please read our
FAQ
If you have any problems with HIRO or downloading full length episodes, please contact our
